THE WORKSHOP IN PEJA “STABILIZATION AND ASSOCIATION AGREEMENT AND LOCAL DEVELOPMENT IN KOSOVA”

Ministry of Local Government Administration in collaboration with UNDP have held a two day workshop in Peja/c, from January 30 to 31, 2014 at the topic " Stabilization and Association Agreement and Local Development in Kosova". 05 shkurt 2014

Knowing the importance of the process of the European Integrations as well as strengthening the path of Kosova towards this process, the Ministry of Local Government Administration in collaboration with UNDP have held a two day workshop in Peja/c, from January 30 to 31, 2014 at the topic " Stabilization and Association Agreement and Local Development in Kosova".
Participants in this workshop were representatives from MLGA and twenty five municipal officials for European Integration.
Mrs. Eleonora Kelmendi from UNDP has opened the meeting, whereas Mrs. Venera Kosumi from MGLA has taken the speech, who initially welcomed all the participants and thanked them for participating, she has also discussed about the importance of MSA/ SAA for Kosova, as well as encouraged the participants to be more active in workshop in order to take advantage from experiences of the Slovenian and Croatian State in the EU integration process..
At the workshop held in Peja/c are made a number of presentations by experts in various fields from Slovenia and Croatia regarding SAA, as:

1. Implications of EU in competences of local self-government; dialogue between EU, member states and local authorities.

2. What is SAA; the process; connection with the local government; experiences of Croatia?

3. Opportunities for local actors as well as how they should prepare  for the IPA and other funds of donors; strategic planning; communication of needs of the local government  at the central level; the administrative capacity;  preparation and management of projects and issues dealing with control)

4. Legal approximation with EU law; experiences of Croatia
The first day of the workshop, date January 30, 2014 during the morning session, Mr. Roman Lavtar- chief of local government office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Slovenia, presented the subject: Implications of EU in competences of local self-government; dialogue between the EU, member states and local authorities, and then
 workshop continued his work with the next presentation by Tamara Obradovic Mazal,  former deputy minister of economy and former deputy chief of negotiations, current advisor of the president of Croatia, on the topic: What is SAA; the process; connection with the local government; experiences of Croatia. The first day of the workshop ended his work with the presentation by Ms. Tamara Obradovic.
The second day of the workshop began with a presentation by Ms. Tatjana Ćorlija  Milivojevic – Ministry of Public Administration, on the subject: opportunities for local actors as well as how they should prepare  for the IPA and other funds of donors; the strategic planning; communication of needs of the local government  at the central level,  administrative capacity, preparation and management of projects and issues dealing with control.)
   
Then, Mrs. Gordana Vidović Mesarek , Head of Division for Coordination of the process of harmonizing legislation with the Acquis Communautaire, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integrations, on the subject: Legal approximation with EU law; experiences of Croatia.
 
At the close of the meeting, Mrs. Venera Kosumi, head of Department for European Integration, thanked the participants for attending in the two-day workshop organized by UNDP in collaboration with MLGA.
