In order to provide information regarding the relevant laws for transparency in local government institutions, the Ministry of Local Government Administration in cooperation with the OSCE have organized a one-day workshop with municipal officials, on the topic "Classification of Information and Protection of Personal Data ”.
At the workshop held in Peja region, with participation of officials of the municipality of Peja/ Pec, Decan, Istog/k, Klina, Junik and Gjakova/Djakovica, civil society representatives and journalists, was discussed on the implementation of the law on access to public documents, including the rights and restrictions that are foreseen by Classification of Information and Protection of Personal Data.
Panelists of the workshop were Mr. Krenar Loshi, Head of Department for Local Governance, OSCE Mission in Kosova, Mr. Mentor Hoxhaj from the State Agency for Protection of Personal Data, Mrs. Lumnija Demi from Ministry of Local Government Administration and Nancy Jasharaj from OSCE.
In total, were 23 participants in the training , officials responsible from six municipalities, Peja/Pec, Deçan, Istog/k, Klina, Junik and Gjakova/Djakovica and representatives of civil society as well as journalists..
Activity for the "Classification of Information and Protection of Personal Data", was organized under the project for development of transparency in the municipality, as continuity of implementation of the law on access to public documents has been launched last year and will continue to be realized in all regions of Kosovo.
