Today it is held the consultative meeting of Mayors of Municipalities with the Minister of Ministry of Local Government Administration, Ivan Todosijevic and the Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj.
Minister Todosijevic welcomed the Mayors and emphasized that these consultative meetings are effective in finding an easier solution to management problems at local as well central level.
Minister Todosijevic during his speech emphasized that based on the Work Plan of the Government, they are involved in implementing 21 activities which are related to strategic priorities of Government, and 46 activities within the sectorial priorities. All activities implemented until now are within the planned deadlines. In 2019, at focus will be the financing of capital projects for sustainable municipal development. Therefore in the Work Plan are planned 7 million Euros for the program “Municipal investment window”. Additionally, there will be 700 thousand Euros which will be divided for municipalities about social housing programmes, as well as 500 thousand for local social economic development. There is a progress also with regards to development of electronic platforms which increase municipal transparency and improve the efficiency of service delivery. Next year is planned the expansion of electronic system for assessing the legality of municipal acts by line ministries, which will help in improving the efficiency of providing in time the responses for municipalities.
During the meeting have been presented additional activities which will be implemented in 2019 with the aim of building municipal capacities.
In concluding his speech Minister Todosijevic said “I hope that this meeting will serve in strengthening the cooperation between local and central institutions with the aim of coordinating the activities of 2019 and ensuring the fulfillment of legal obligations so that we achieve common successes of general interest”.
