Missing Persons Resource Center in cooperation and support of the Swiss Embassy in Kosovo, under the project ” Support to associations of families with missing persons in Kosovo on the establishment of the rights of the missing families ” has organized meetings with municipalities in Kosovo where have assessed the situation of capacities in municipalities for officials dealing with the issues of missing persons. On this occasion, coordinators of the multiethnic source center “Bajram Qerkini” and Milorad Trifunović has met today with the Minister of the Ministry of Local Government Administration, Mr. Ivan Todosijević in order to discuss and consult about the situation that they have seen on the ground.
Representatives of this center have sought help from local institutions, for an easier access to families with missing persons on exercising of their rights, with special emphasis on displaced Serb families.
Minister Todosijević emphasized that the issue of missing persons is a very sensitive and painful issue, not only for the families of the missing persons but for the whole society. Todosijević has emphasized the support of the Ministry, which he leads, and has called on all officials and institutions dealing with this issue, to be on a professional level, to work with great care and dedication.
The fate of the missing can be solved only by joint work and engagement of all institutions and individuals, was said in the meeting.
