USAID has today issued a report on the Municipal Competitiveness Index 2012.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Local Government Administration, Slobodan Petrović has said in his opening remarks that this index is very important for the economic development of Kosovo having into account how important it is to encourage enterprises by the local governments.
The Deputy Prime Minister "The municipalities are those who make improvements. If the municipalities do not show more willingness in this area, it would not be good for our development and our future". Minister Petrović also added that the Ministry of Local Government Administration shall continue to work with municipalities and assist them in their improvement. USAID has also distributed rewards to the municipalities that have shown best results in 2012.
