Within the campaign for registration of communities Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Local Government Administration, Mr. Bajram Gecaj, and Mayor of the Municipality of Ferizaj/Urosevac, Mr. Muharrem Svarca have visited today the Office of Communities in Ferizaj/Urosevac.
Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Local Government Administration, Mr. Bajram Gecaj, said that the implementation of rights begins by registration that is guaranteed by the Constitution and laws of Kosovo and it is important that this right, be used by all communities and that the registration process ensures right and equal treatment to all citizens of Kosovo. “The right of registration is a right guaranteed to all and it will help Kosovo towards to important processes, such as: Visa Liberalization and Stabilization and Association Agreement ", said Deputy Minister, Bajram Gecaj.
Mayor of municipality of Ferizaj/Urosevac, Mr. Muharrem Svarca, said that the municipality is making maximal efforts for the successful completion of the registration project of RAE community, while according to the analyses; he said that in the Municipality of Ferizaj/Urosevac, there are a total of 19 unregistered persons who belong to Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian community.
The visit of the Deputy Minister, Bajram Gecaj in the Municipality of Ferizaj/Urosevac was realized within the campaign of the Ministry of Local Government to free registration of the birth extract and subsequent registration of communities: Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian (RAE) as the important segment of the universal human rights and fulfilling the tasks arising from the Action Plan on Visa Liberalization.
The campaign for free registration of communities Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian is organized every year in April, in order to fulfill the objectives arising from the Strategy and Action Plan. This campaign, except that will inform the community about the importance of registration, will also identify unregistered citizens and civil registries will be verified in order to avoid double registration.
