On 02 August 2016, the Ministry of Local Government Administration (MLGA) with the support of the OSCE has organised a one-day workshop to discuss about the Draft Administrative Instruction on the Procedure of Establishment, Organisation and Competences of Municipal Consultative Committees. On 02 August 2016, the Ministry of Local Government Administration (MLGA) with the support of the OSCE has organised a one-day workshop to discuss about the Draft Administrative Instruction on the Procedure of Establishment, Organisation and Competences of Municipal Consultative Committees. The meeting was attended by representatives from MLGA and OSCE, legal officers and Chairpersons of Municipal Consultative Committees.
The meeting was opened by Ms. Flutura Hoxha, Head of Division for Development and Harmonisation of Legislation in MLGA, who stated that the 2016 Work Plan of the Ministry foresees drafting the Draft Administrative Instruction on the Procedure of Establishment, Organisation and Competences of Municipal Consultative Committees. The draft-administrative instruction and all amendments made to it were presented at the meeting. The representatives of municipalities and committees agreed that the draft administrative instruction can be used as a tool to promote active participation of citizens in decision making process in municipalities, as one of the mechanisms of direct democracy granted under the Law Local Self-Government.
