The Secretary General of the Ministry of Local Government Administration, Jeton Qela, and Deputy Minister Agon Batusha met with European Union officials in Kosovo, led by Cyprien Francois, Head of the EU Policy Sector for Kosovo. During the meeting, the experts and their role in supporting municipalities were introduced—specifically regarding the strengthening of communication and cooperation between local and central levels, the identification of needs, and the addressing of issues related to the institutional functioning of municipalities. The European Union representatives informed Secretary Qela that the experts would provide professional support and contribute to facilitating inter-institutional cooperation and the fulfillment of legal obligations, in accordance with their mandate and responsibilities. Deputy Minister Batusha emphasized the importance of addressing the problems and needs of citizens in the four northern municipalities of the Republic of Kosovo, as well as strengthening cooperation between these municipalities and central-level institutions. At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue their cooperation and regular coordination with experts—through meetings and ongoing communication—with the aim of addressing specific issues and supporting the most effective functioning of local institutions.
