Director of the Department for Digitalization of Municipal Services (DDMS), Flurim Arifi, participated in the roundtable on political integrity in Kosovo

The Director of the Department for Digitalization of Municipal Services within the Ministry of Local Government Administration (MLGA), Mr. Flurim Arifi, participated in the roundtable organized by #KDI, where research on the existing political integrity regulation in Kosovo was presented.

During the roundtable, legal, institutional and digital challenges that affect political integrity were discussed, with particular emphasis on the fragmentation of the data ecosystem and the need to advance transparency through the publication of data in open, standardized and reusable formats. The importance of moving towards an “open-by-default” approach and improving inter-institutional data connectivity to enable more effective accountability was also emphasized.

On this occasion, Mr. Arifi emphasized the importance of the Open Government Partnership (OGP), underlining the MLGA’s commitment to advancing transparency and citizen engagement through the Action Plan 2026–2028. He also focused on the role of the E-Municipality platform as a key instrument for the digitalization of municipal services and increasing citizens’ access to public services, as well as the need for its further development and integration with other state systems to increase institutional efficiency and transparency.

In conclusion, it was emphasized that the digitalization of processes and the advanced use of data remain essential elements for building more open, efficient and accountable institutions towards citizens.
