The Ministry of Local Government Administration has continued the process of reviewing and updating the indicators of the Municipal Performance Management System (MPMS), with the aim of further advancing this system and improving the measurement of municipal performance.
On September 7, 2026, thematic meetings were held with municipal representatives and experts from various fields, organized in two sessions.
Morning session:
The indicators of Area 16 – Local Economic Development were discussed, as well as some indicators of Area 3 – Budget and Finance. Representatives from the municipalities of: Lipjan, Decan, Dragash, Ferizaj, Fushe Kosova and Leposaviq participated in this session.
Afternoon session:
The indicators of Area 12 – Environmental Protection were discussed.
Representatives from the municipalities of Rahovec, Gjakova, Gjilan, Gllogoc, Hani i Elezit and Gracanica participated in this session. During the meetings, draft indicators of the respective areas were reviewed, focusing on their content, formulation, measurement method and applicability.
The contribution of municipal representatives and experts through comments and proposals will serve to further improve the indicators, before their finalization.
This process, also supported by Helvetas DEMOS, aims to strengthen transparency, accountability and measurement of the performance of municipalities, contributing to the continuous improvement of local services for citizens.
