On the occasion of the commencement of the project “Municipalities for Youth in Kosovo” funded by the Japanese government through the World Bank, in a total amount of $ 2.73 million, was held a joint meeting with the Minister of MLGA, Mrs. Emilija Redžepi, Secretary General of MLGA, Mrs. Rozafa Ukimeraj and representatives of the World Bank, Mrs. Linda Van Gelder – Regional Director of the World Bank for the Balkans, Europe and Central Asia, Mr. Marco Mantovanelli – Director of the World Bank for Kosovo and Northern Macedonia and the new Director of the World Bank for Kosovo and Northern Macedonia Massimiliano Paolucci.
The project aims at empowering young people in Kosovo, (ages15-29) and to provide capacity building through social entrepreneurship and civic engagement by funding about 150 small initiatives and projects.
Upon the successful beginning of this project, based on the excellent cooperation between the two institutions, the parties agreed and committed to work together for the implementation of a second project “Connecting Youth: Youth Inclusion and Entrepreneurship”, in the amount of $ 20.00 Million, in order to support municipalities and young people in the field of entrepreneurship, employment and investment, after the COVID-19 pandemic ends.
