Today the Deputy General Secretary of MLGA Venera Çerkini has signed implementation agreements with groups of beneficiaries, in the municipalities: Drenas and Zveçan, under the project “Municipalities for youth – M4Y”. The projects are expected to start to be implemented from this week and will be completed in 2023.
This project, in addition to providing grants, has also organized project management and soft skills training for more than 1,500 young people in these municipalities, with the additional highly effective design methodology of UNICEF’s UPSHIFT projects. Trainees and other beneficiaries, mainly young people, are prepared to design projects and implement them in their respective municipalities.
The abovementioned municipalities have contributed in this process, by co-financing the projects, coordinating the training process together with the project team, as well as the entire process of application and selection of grants.
“The Municipalities for Youth” project is funded by the Government of Japan through the support of the Japan Social Development Fund, administered by the World Bank and implemented by the Ministry of Local Government Administration with the Community Development Fund (CDF) as an implementing partner.
