The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Local Government Administration, Mr. Slobodan Petrović, together with the International Civilian Representative / ICO, Mr. Pieter Feith have paid a visit to the village Reçan/Rečane, in order to be closely acquainted with the actual position of the Bosniak community in Kosovo. 20 June 2012, Prishtinë/Priština
The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Local Government Administration, Mr. Slobodan Petrović, together with the International Civilian Representative / ICO, Mr. Pieter Feith have paid a visit to the village Reçan/Rečane, in order to be closely acquainted with the actual position of the Bosniak community in Kosovo.
On this occasion, the Deputy Prime Minister Petrović has said that he will do everything possible to improve the quality of life of citizens.
Minister Petrović has said “In my capacity of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Local Government Administration, together with the representatives of the Bosnian community, I will work towards the realization of the aims of this community in order to improve the quality of life of citizens”.
The decentralization process and the will of the Bosniak community for the establishment of new municipality was also topic of discussion in this meeting.
The International Civilian Representative, Mr. Pieter Feith has said “I am glad that Minister Petrović has said that Kosovo Government will do everything possible to strengthen the position of the Bosniak community”.
During this meeting, the MeP Emilia Regjepi has made a presentation on the conditions related to the establishment of an eventual new Bosniak majority municipality, respectively the municipality of Zhupë/Župa. This locality and its surroundings have from 13000-15000 inhabitants.
Minister Petrović and Mr. Feith have encouraged the representatives of the Bosniak community to continue to consult with respective ministries with the aim of realizing their goal.
