Division for the Advancement of Human Rights visited municipality of Fushë Kosova, on February 2, 2015, in the framework of activities, agenda and work planhas started a campaign in the municipality of Fushë Kosova. The campaign was launched on January 20, 2015, through an official letter that was sent to all mayors and other municipal structures, from the Ministry of Local Government Administration.
In advance DAHRM officials met with municipal structures, Director of Administration, the head of the Office of Communities and Returns, officerfor returns, coordinator for human rights, civil registration officer and representative of the communities in the neighborhood of 029.
The meeting aimed to inform the officials, concerning the FREE registration campaign for Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian communities in order to establish the preconditions and awareness-raising and promotion of human rights in Kosovo.
In this case were distributed banners, brochures and T-shirts with the slogan "Carry your rights, REGISTER" in three languages: Albanian, Serbian and Roma, with the aim of promoting civil registration.
During the meeting we were informed that until now it has been identified a family which not been registered due to lack of documentation.
After the meeting with municipal officials, we visited the family of Gazmend Bajrami Gazmend which belongs to the Roma community in order to get information for problems that have been an obstacle for their registration.Family of 7 members, living in very difficult economic conditions, and has five (5) children ageing from 13 to 3 years old None of the children are involved in the education system and are not beneficiaries of any social assistance or stimulating package for lack of documentation.
According to the head of the family we learned that his family lives in Fushë Kosovë for 15 years after returning from Germany. All children were born in Kosovo, none is registered with the registrar, two of his children 13 and 9 year have continued for a short time learning in Serbian parallel structures which they have abandoned due to difficult economic conditions.
