On behalf of the Minister of Local Government Administration Adriana Hoxhiq, the Deputy Minister Beqir Fejzullahu participated in the ceremony of sharing the Energy Card and presenting the Municipal Public Action Plan for Energy Efficiency, who also conveyed the massage of Minister Hoxhiq.
“Energy and sufficient energy resources remain one of the priority policy obligations for countries aspiring to join the European Union and are one of the biggest challenges for Europe, especially for developing countries, not excluding Kosovo.” Lack of sufficient resources and capital to use these resources, caused the need for more efficient and rational use of the existing amount of energy. ”
Fejzullahu emphasized the importance of cooperation between all relevant institutions in implementing the project “Support to the implementation of the third energetic Package, with a focus on the efficiency of the energy and the renewable energy”.
He also emphasized that municipalities are responsible for the implementation of an important part of objectives of the efficiency. Because the Law on Energy Efficiency No. 06/L-079 foresees for each municipalities to draft its municipal plan and to report periodically to the Kosovo Energy Efficiency Agency regarding the implementation. The Plan on Energy Efficiency in Kosovo based on the data from municipalities, shows that 29 municipalities possess this plan, where in 9 municipalities (Shtime, Ranillug, Prishtinë, Pejë, Dragash, Mitrovicë e Veriut, Graçanicë, Leposaviq) this plan is not approved.
At the end of the ceremony, the Deputy Minister Fejzullahu thanked the European Commission Office in Kosovo, the German Organization for International Cooperation (GIZ), for their continuous/generous support throughout these years in many areas, as well as the Energy Efficiency Agency and the Association of Kosovo Municipalities for organizing the ceremony.
