As part of the commencement of the Inter-Municipal Cooperation Fund, the Ministry of Local Government Administration (MLGA) and the project “Activity for Effective Local Governance”, financed by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), held the third information meeting with municipalities: Prishtina/Priština, Lipljan/Ljipjane, Shtime/Štimlje, Istog/Istok, Fushë Kosovë/Kosovo Polje, Podujevë/Podujevo, Gjakovë/Đakovica, Deçan/Dečane, Junik/Junik i Klinë/Klina.
During the information session, the representatives of municipalities had the chance to be informed by the MLGA Officials regarding the method and procedures used when implementing the projects in the field on inter-municipal cooperation.
The Inter-Municipal Cooperation Fund is part of MLGA budget, under the budget category – capital investments. For 2019, the general financial amount of the fund is about 1,000,000.00€, whereas the requests received from municipalities for financial support from MLGA budget, will be supported from the minimum amount of 150,000.00 € up to the maximum amount of 300,000.00€ for the project.
The purpose of the Inter-Municipal Cooperation Fund is to strengthen the partnership between the local government, for implementing joint municipal projects that have a sustainable effect in the local social-economic development, and the capital project of two or more municipalities, affecting sustainable local economic development, based on the mutual local interest and the free will of municipalities.
The call for application for the Inter-Municipal Cooperation Fund is open, starting on 26.02.2019 until 10.04.2019.
