Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa visited the Ministry of Local Government Administration, where he was received by the Minister of Local Government Administration, Mr. Ljubomir Marić.
Marić, informed Prime Minister Mustafa about the scope, priorities and strategic objectives of the Ministry of the Local Government Administration, particular focusing on the process of reforming the local government and mandate of MALG in relation with the advancement and empowering of Kosovo municipalities.
In the meeting were addressed issues of municipality budget, where is some cases are not enough for functioning of the municipality and their needs. Also, it was discussed for all current issues which are faced by the municipalities with Serbian majority, in order to jointly work on finding appropriate solutions.
Topics that are priority for local government, as are inter-ministerial coordination of the fund for capital investment, the need for credible statistics of the population, the greatest assistance of the Government will be on increasing institutional capacity of the municipalities and further development of local self-government legislation, were some of the important topics that were discussed.
Prime Minister Mustafa expressed his support for and efforts for the Ministry of the Local Government Administration in its scope of work in order to assist municipalities and advancing local governance and pledged the readiness of the Government to provide support for MALG in implementing of strategic objectives in relation with the municipalities of Kosovo.
