The Ministry of Local Government Administration in cooperation with the OSCE held the first 2017 meeting of the inter-ministerial working group on the implementation of the Strategy for Local Self-Government 2016 – 2026, in participation of representatives from MLGA, MESP, MTI, MI, MAP, MCYS and KLGI. 01 June, 2017
The Ministry of Local Government Administration in cooperation with the OSCE held the first 2017 meeting of the inter-ministerial working group on the implementation of the Strategy for Local Self-Government 2016 – 2026, in participation of representatives from MLGA, MESP, MTI, MI, MAP, MCYS and KLGI.
The purpose of the meeting was to present activities of the implementation of Strategy for Local Self-Government 2016-2026 for 2016, the Strategy Planning for 2017, Strategy orientations for 2018 and 2019, and establishment of the Sub-working groups by MLGA, as well as other institutions and civil society.
During the development of the works, the importance of coordination of activities regarding the implementation of the Strategy for Local Self-Government was emphasized. Also, many issues were discussed regarding activities that affect the responsibilities of the ministries within the working group, as well as the need to have other meetings of this level.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the main conclusions were reached that it is necessary to continue with such meetings at this level of representation, in principle the proposed decisions for the establishment of the five sub-groups within the 5 objectives of the strategy were adopted, such as: 1. The decision on the establishment of a sub-working group for the implementation of the Strategy for Local Self-Government, field – Natural and Cultural Diversity, 2. Decision on the establishment of a sub-working group for implementation of the Strategy for Local self-government, the area – Strengthening of Municipal Partnerships with stakeholders. 3. Establishment of a sub-working group for the implementation of the Strategy for local self-government, the area – Local Economic Development, 4. Establishment of a Sub-working group for implementation of the Strategy for Local self-government, the area – Institutional capacity building, and 5. Establishment of the sub-working group for implementation of the Local self-government strategy, the area – Good Governance. All these decisions will also be sent to secretaries of responsible ministries, in order that each institution assigns a responsible official.
